Rogues Ale
Rogues Ale is a brewery that was founded in 1988 in Ashland, Oregon, and has 3 locations in Newport, Oregon, 3 locations in Portland, Oregon, 1 location in Astoria, Oregon, 1 location in Independence, Oregon, and 1 more location in Issaquah, Washington. In 1987, In 1987, Jack Joyce, Bob Woodell, Rob Strasses, and past University of Oregon fraternity brothers were approached by Jeff Schultz, Bob's accountant and avid home brewer, to start their own brewing company. In 1988 they started construction on a 10 bbl brewhouse set up in the basement with a 60 seat Pub above the basement. The brewhouse successfully opened in October 1988, with it’s first few brews being American Amber Ale, Oregon Golden Ale, Shakespeare Stout. Their Dead Guy Ale is an ale inspired by the style of a German Maibock, brewed using our proprietary Pacman yeast, Dead Guy Ale is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well-balanced finish. Rogues Ale has entered their Dead Guy Ale into multiple brewing contests, held by the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) and the World Beer Cup (WBC). Their Dead Guy Ale has won multiple thinks, including the 2016 World Beer Championships (Gold), 2016 San Diego International Beer Festival (Bronze), 2015 The Great International Beer & Cider Competition (First), 2015 World Beer Championships (Gold), World Beer Championships (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012), and Best of Year 2018 World Beverage Competition (Platinum).
